What Is The Difference Between Piloting And Aircraft Maintenance ?

I will sure that someone will mention to me that why I write this post... The story beginning like that... I found that my friends who are not studying/working in this field, they will confuse about my course, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Piloting Course, I also been heard some said that they are both same in what they are doing in their jobs. At here, I can simply tell you all, they are NOT THE SAME !

For my course, we will be entering the servicing field which servicing the engines, repair part of the aeroplane, provide continuous aircraft service to customers, but piloting course student, they will be taking a job as pilot to fly the airplane. Their job need ensure the passengers reached their destination in safety way. For the view of the licensing, they will taking Commercial Pilot License (CPL) for who plan work as commercial pilot in airline company, Private Pilot License (PPL) for who just want to fly their own small private airplane. For us, we take licensing exam like Category A, B1, B2, B3 to work in our field. Until here, I think you all have really difference between my course and piloting course right? We also not wearing formal clothes like pilot when we are in the job. Just give example:
this will what pilot look like nowadays (Figure 1), but ours are look like that... (Figure 2) We just wear clothes like T-shirt during our job...

From the salary, maybe pilot's salary maybe higher than us, but it depend on your choice. Our main job is to ensure aircraft can be fly safety around the world. If you really interested with our jobs and not afraid to do many dirty jobs, you really come to the correct place. If not, you can pass by and find information about piloting in other blogs or anywhere.

  2. I had been meet with the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers before. They said mostly they wear the company's T-shirt to work because T-shirt give them convenience to serive the aircraft in the hanger, but they also wear uniform when they are in the office... This fact I heard from them.

  4. Every time aircraft need to be serviced, AME will do it in hanger... They will not do it in open space... Unless, they are doing engine test.
